Optomap Retinal Exam Markham
Unionville Optometry is proud to be one of the few optometry clinics in Markham to offer the Optomap retinal exam. This high tech diagnostic tool uses a laser assisted digital camera to capture a high resolution image of the retina (back of the eye).
The Optomap test is the only retinal camera capable of documenting a full 200 degrees (80%) of the retina in one photograph. The detail presented in an Optomap image can be used to confirm a healthy eye or detect the presence of disease, including diabetes, high blood pressure, retinal detachments, or trauma at its earliest stage.
With a permanent record for your medical file, your eye doctor can make important comparisons if potential problems show themselves at a future eye examination. We hope that with a regular annual Optomap retinal exam, our eye patients can minimize vision loss due to disease or retinal detachment.
Unionville Optometry has provided Optomap retinal exams to patients in communities throughout the Greater Toronto Area including Markham, Stouffville, Newmarket, North York, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Pickering, among others.
